Jerry has been playing sax since the 6th grade. He started on Alto but quickly moved to Bari where he spends most of his time even now. Jerry Graduated Lugoff-Elgin High School in 1984 and joined the Highway #1 Big Band shortly after. The rest is history. He can't remember all the different Big Bands he has played with. Sumter Community Jazz Band and Blythewood Jazz Orchestra were two of the latest.
Jerry teaches "Computer Repair and Service" at the Woolard Technology Center in Camden SC. He plays with the Camden Community Concert Band. He is the founder and plays Bari Sax in the Wateree Sax Quartet (see video below) with 2 other members of Riverland. He also manages and plays Tenor Sax in the Wateree Dixieland Band. In his spare time he also DJs when he is not teaching or playing one of his saxes.
